PAIN RELIEF BLEND

I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter weekend!!  My younger sister and her family came for a visit and we had a great time.  She is such fun to be with!!  She is also an avid runner and having some issues with some discomfort in her hip area.  I told her that I am going to make her a salve that will hopefully give some support and relief to that area.

1 oz (28 gm) Beeswax (Cera alba)
6 oz (168 gm) Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera)
25 drops (1 ml) Peppermint essential oil (Mentha x piperita)
50 drops (2 ml) Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
50 drops (2 ml) Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis)

(It is important to note that when you are making a pain relief massage butter, use the ratio of 1 part beeswax to 6 parts coconut.)

This recipe makes (3) 2 oz (60 ml) jars with enough leftover for (1) 1 oz (30ml) jar.

Benefits of the individual oils are:

Peppermint
Reduces pain
Anti Inflammatory
Increases circulation

Orange:
Uplifting
Anti Inflammatory
Reduces Pain

Lavender:
Calming
Reduces Pain
Anti Inflammatory/Reduces Muscle Spasms

I can't wait to start creating this blend! I am going to use these adorable containers from SKS Bottle and plan to use the dome shaped lids with the containers.  Here is what they look like:

Aren't They Cute!!  :)

Need to purchase some coconut oil?  Mountain Rose Herbs has a wonderful selection of coconut oil as well as other carrier oils. The offer refined and unrefined coconut oil.  Some people prefer to use the refined coconut oil as the scent is more bland/less "coconut-y" than the unrefined.
