MINT TEA in the Good Ol' Summertime

Nothing says summer like good ol' mint tea. I have a lot of it growing in my garden and am always searching for a good mint tea recipe. This one is a keeper!!

Mint Tea

Mint Tea:10 sprigs fresh mint1/2-1 cup sugar8-10 cups waterjuice of one lemon

  • Wash and tear mint leaves.  This will release the aroma and give your tea a lovely flavor.  Boil the water and pour over the torn mint leaves.  Mint leaves are hardy and can withstand boiling water being poured over them.  Stir in the sugar (or sweetener of your choice) and stir until dissolved.  Squeeze in the lemon juice.  Let mixture stand at room temperature until cool then strain your tea into a pitcher.  Discard the mint leaves.
  • Refrigerate & enjoy!!
