Mosquitoes.  Even the word makes me cringe.  Ever since I got bitten a few years ago and got an infection from the bite, I am super leery of those little beasties.  This is a recipe that I copied down a few years ago courtesy of Aromahead Institute.  It has since become one of my favorite recipes to use!!

8 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil — Juniperus virginiana
3 drops Juniper Berry Essential Oil — Juniperus communis
8 drops Patchouli Essential Oil — Pogostemom cablin
5 drops Spikenard Essential Oil — Nardostachys jatamansi
4 oz (120 ml) Peppermint Hydrosol — Distilled from Boswellia carterii
4 oz (120 ml) Spray Bottle

Hydrosols are one of my new loves....they are very gentle on the skin and work quite effectively in this blend as the carrier.  However, if you do not have Peppermint Hydrosol, feel free to substitute with Chamomile or Frankincense.   You could also use distilled water or even Aloe vera gel instead.

I like to put my blend in a PET plastic container.  Add the hydrosol (or the carrier of your choice) into the bottle and then add the drops of essential oils.

If you do make this, let me know how you like it!!  Because this blend doesn't have preservatives in it, store it in the fridge.
