I haven't blogged alot lately due to some health issues.  Tomorrow I am having a procedure done that involves an overnight hospital stay.  So, being the budding Aromatherapist that I am, it only makes sense to include a personal essential oil inhaler in my overnight bag!  I decided to make this inhaler that I read about over at Edible Austin, courtesy of Andrea Butje,

(This inhaler would also be very useful to take on an airplane or anyplace else where you might find yourself in close, crowded spaces).

Immunity Inhaler

  • 8 drops lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil
  • 3 drops peppermint (Mentha x piperita) essential oil
  • 4 drops ravintsara a.k.a. ho leaf (Cinnamomum camphora ct 1,8 cineole) essential oil**

Add essential oils to the cotton insert that comes with the inhaler and close the assembly.

Inhale deeply into each nostril several times a day to ward off colds and flu. Close lid tightly between uses

**If you don't have Ravintsara essential oil, you may substitute Eucalyptus.  Ravintsara is high in 1,8 cineole and so is Eucalyptus, so Eucalyptus is a great substitute.
