ESSENTIAL OILS FOR EDEMA

I have been having issues with edema in my legs.  After doing some research, I found a blend that uses Lemongrass, Grapefruit, and Cypress.  Besides smelling great, this blend also feels wonderful when I massage it on my feet and legs.

Edema Blend

Oils for edema: Apply 2 drops each of Lemongrass, Grapefruit and Cypress essential oils diluted in 1 T. (15ml) of fractionated coconut oil, massage into feet, ankles and calves upwards towards the heart. This is a 2% dilution: 1T of carrier oil to 6 drops of essential oils.

Self-massage tips*

  • Starting from ankles working your way towards your knees, lightly massage legs. Avoid putting too much pressure into the massage, i.e. be gentle.
  • The back of your knees is where lymph ducts from legs (lymph node) accumulate, so apply pressure lightly in this area; it is sensitive.
  • Be sure to massage the area around your kneecap where swelling may be most prominent.

Repeat on both legs, 10 times for best results.
