Today I was sitting at my desk, scratching my knees, and wishing I had something to put on them.  I have been having issues with psoriasis and my poor knees are so uncomfortable.  I had some salves on my desk that were made previously using carrier oils, beeswax, and essential oils but I wasn't getting much relief.  When I went to the fridge to get a drink, I happened to spy the container of cuticle butter.  After taking off the lid, I could see that the mixture was very hard but once I scooped some out and rubbed it between my fingers, it got very soft.  Then an idea hit me.  I scooped out the mixture into a glass bowl and set the bowl into a larger bowl of very hot water.  After melting the cuticle butter, I poured the now liquid mixture into a little mini deodorant container.

After about an hour in the fridge, the mixture had hardened nicely.  I uncapped the lid, screwed it up just like you would a deodorant stick and rubbed it on my knees.  The now-hard lotion melted almost immediately upon contact with my skin and rubbed in nicely.  There was no stickiness or tackiness at all.  Lucious Relief!

This recipe is definitely a keeper and I'll be making more in the future!  To recap, here is how I made it:

I used the original "Butter-n-Oils for your Cuticles" that I posted about Here.  Instead of whipping the shea butter and then adding the coconut oil and jojoba oil, I instead melted the coconut oil in a double boiler.  When melted, I added in the jojoba oil and took the pan off the heat.  That is important, as Shea butter doesn't like a lot of heat.  I then added in the Shea butter followed by the essential oils and poured the mixture into an empty mini deodorant container.  I prefer to store my container(s) in the refrigerator but you can keep them out at room temp.

**Don't Forget about the Giveaway going on over HERE.  Friday is the last day to enter!!
