HUMBLE LITTLE DANDELION

I am seriously loving the humble little dandelion.....Did you know that Infused (not essential) herbal oils are an important element of breast self-massage? When herbs are infused into oil, active plant components are liberated and can be massaged into breast tissue— where they help reverse abnormal cellular changes such as hyperplasia, atypia, precancers, and in situ cancers.

One of the chief uses for the oil, described by Wise Woman Tradition herbalists, is as a breast massage oil. This beautiful bright yellow salve or oil helps to ease premenstrual soreness, and also helps to soften fibrous or thickened breast tissue. Used in this way, the oil is said to strengthen the immune system, protect against cancer, and increase one’s sense of self-worth. I had a breast cancer scare back in December of 2013. Well, the resulting scar was kind of thick and lumpy/bumpy. I faithfully massaged this blend into the scar and the result was a softer, smoother and less irritating scar

It is really fun for me to make these infused oils. Right now, I have a big ol' bowl of dandelion-infused olive oil/grapeseed oil sitting on my kitchen table. It is such a beautiful color!! (*I chose grapeseed oil because it is non-comedogenic which is just a fancy word for "it doesn't clog pores." It is also a lovely oil that is easily absorbed and gentle on your skin, particularly the facial area.)
